Okey, my curiousity was peaked.

Your Moralising Quotient is: 0.53.
Your Interference Factor is: 0.40.
Your Universalising Factor is: 1.00.

Your Moralising Quotient of 0.53 compares to an average Moralising Quotient of 0.22. This means that as far as the events depicted in the scenarios featured in this activity are concerned you are less permissive than average.

Your Interference Factor of 0.40 compares to an average Interference Factor of 0.12. This means that as far as the events depicted in the scenarios featured in this activity are concerned you are more likely to recommend societal interference in matters of moral wrongdoing, in the form of prevention or punishment, than average.

Your Universalising Factor of 1.00 compares to an average Universalising Factor of 0.30. This means you are more likely than average to see moral wrongdoing in universal terms - that is, without regard to prevailing cultural norms and social conventions (at least as far as the events depicted in the scenarios featured in this activity are concerned).

One thing I think the folks here miss is that harm is not necessarily physical. Harm can also be to ones soul.

I forget the name of the psych experiment where folks would be brought in to "zap" a contestant for wrong answers. Well, basically the setup was to see how far in a pressure induced state a person would go. They had a recording of a "testee" for each "tester" who would continue increasing the voltage to the testee for wrong answers. While no one was actually physically hurt in the process of the experiment, I would say that the tester was. The tester on the extreme end throught that they had electrocuted the testee. Certainly the tester learned that they were capable of doing an evil act while under pressure, and hopefully it would make them a more introspective person, but regardless the person has been harmed.

For example, prostitution claims to be a victimless crime, however it also lowers the morale, selfworth, and dignity of the prostitute. That person then has a well to climb out of to interact on a normal societal level. Certainly harm has been done.

What I do not find surprising here is that a philosophy site has such average low scores for this moral quotient. Current schools of thought tend to teach and encourage moral relativism instead of moral absolutism. When anything can be "right" simpley because you say it is okey, you decay the moral fiber of the people. This is a war that I think has been coming to a head for quite a while. Moral relativism has in this generation made huge strides towards attacking and enforcing its standards on folks recently.

The inteference factor I think is completely invalid as more and more relativistic morals are being imposed on those who have moral absolutes. Gay marriage, abortion, fetal stem cell research, and many other things that eat at the fabric of moral society.

Finally I see this as inevitable. One of my fans had at one point a sig along the lines, "God created man, man sinned, and its all been downhill since." What a truism. Certainly we have had reformations and revivals since the beginning of time, but Revelation seems to indicate the world is bound for evil before Christ returns.
