Even with enterprise level Samsung drives, the cost per drive is almost half that! Just crazy. And the only version that ssd's a make difference for are very underpowered for what you would have to pay for the ssds. It's a complete joke. I have 6 8tb evos in my ds620+slim and it cost nearly half that as well. Just terrible decision for a company who can be replaced. Their spinning hdds are somewhat more reasonable but I have specific brands I like and that they don't use(I've had too many seagates go bad on me early).

Big Adobe energy here without the monopoly to really work for them.

Open Sauce Foundation Created 95

First time accepted submitter TekTek writes "In response to the growing proliferation of the use of "secret sauce" as a vehicle for entrepreneurs', venture capitalists', and investment bankers' thinly veiled proprietary machinations, a global consortium of premium condiment manufacturers has launched the Open Sauce Foundation (OSF). Founding members include McIlhenny Company (producer of Tabasco brand pepper sauce), Huy Fong Foods (producer of "Rooster Brand" Sriracha sauce), and Kikkoman (producer of Kikkoman brand Soy Sauce). The new foundation's stated aim is not only to uphold the virtues of buying worthy sauce manufacturers' products, but to demonstrate to the tech, financial, and media communities that "Open" companies, and condiments, can, and do, assume leadership roles in their respective markets."

It can knock you down pretty far depending on how much you owe. $300 is probably not going kill your credit outright if it's very good, but if it's average, you could see some serious problems including rate hikes to your credit cards and trouble qualifying for loans or possibly even housing or jobs. In which case, they wrongfully damaged you and you can take them to court for a small pile of money and have it taken off your credit. It's your responsibility to show that you were wrongfully affected by their actions(so save any documents on such things)but they must show that they properly put this on your credit report and some places are harsher than others for that. Also you can dispute it in the meantime although that has mixed results generally if they have your signature on a sheet of paper. The credit bureau's don't take a lot of time to handle disputes and tend to take the word of the businesses over the individual.

Mom Arrested After Son Makes Dry Ice "Bombs" 571

formfeed writes "Police were called to a house in Omaha where a 14-year-old made some 'dry ice bombs' (dry ice in soda bottles). Since his mom knew about it, she is now facing felony charges for child endangment and possession of a destructive device. From the article: 'Assistant Douglas County Attorney Eric Wells said the boy admitted to making the bomb and that his mother knew he was doing so. The boy was set to appear Tuesday afternoon in juvenile court, accused of possessing a destructive device.'" She's lucky they didn't find the baking soda volcano in the basement.

As a reasonably attractive woman and giant nerd that I am, I've gone into store where the leering is not only there, but supported and one upped by the staff. Blatantly. Now, I would say, given the amount of comic book/game stores I've been entered in my life about half of them have been either dismissive or creepy, NOT counting the general filthyness of a few of the stores. I remember the 90's specfically going into comic book stores and the guys in there looking from me to the Dawn posters. It really freaked me out and I almost never got into any comics at all because of that. Luckily, I've found wonderful game and comic book stores that I can go to and feel good about spending my money at. So when I see those places on television I think, oh, it's one of those places.

I honestly have to agree. I felt the world was beautiful and some of the fight scenes were fun, and while that's why most people will go to and expect from this movie, I hope they aren't disappointed. There were too many tacted-on and extremely trite love scenes. And the slapstick comedy. Hellboy gets hit with lockers, hell boy slips in goo. I really expected a three stooges scenes with Klaus as Moe, Abe as Larry, and Hellboy as Curly. I just couldn't get into it. I seriously think they could have cut about 45 minutes out of the middle and it would have been a much much better film for it. I personally suggest waiting for matinee or even a rental, though, it's one really great aspect, it's beauty, might be missed.

It's definitely been psychologically proven that being gay isn't "learned" behaviour- our kids can't "become gay" by having an adult talk about the existence of gays.

What can happen, on the other hand, is that your children who already have gay feelings, or have friends with those feelings, can discover that there is a society here that is accepting of their differences and that they don't need to be ashamed of having the sexuality that they do- once they are old enough to actually be sexual, that is. There is so much anti-gay propoganda being thrown around that children are exposed to, from the media, their churches, schools, other parents, etc that we shrug off as "part of life". How many 2nd graders do you know that don't know the word "faggot" and that it's a bad word? Do they know why it's a bad word? Do they know who it hurts? Certainly you're teaching them why "n*gger" is a bad word, right?

When the side of kindness of heart and acceptance of diversity side has their say, everyone gets up in arms! It's OK for everyone to spew messages of hate at our kids but it's not OK to teach them that it's OK be be gay- or that it's OK to care for their friends that are?

It's critical that we teach our kids acceptance and kindness at a young age- if we don't then they'll accept hatred as a way of life and it will be ingrained in them their entire life. I've seen it happen too many times with kids who are naturally kind-hearted. I won't let it happen with my family or any that I have any influence over.

"Silence == Death." Think about that. Will it be your sweet kid who turns out to be involved in a gay-bashing death in 15 years, because you refused to enforce the fact that everyone deserves a happy, healthy life? Certainly not mine, because I won't Censor them from knowing about all of the different wonderful types of people in the world.

Peace.
