Perhaps you've not figured it out yet, but all the energy you are using right now was supplied by the sun (or some other star) and made available to you via plants, fossil fuels (made from plants and animals that ate those plants and each other) and some direct things that come via your skin and exposure to sunlight (Vitamin D being one of them). That you are not paying for the damage that fossil fuels cause is just a warped coincidence due to historical ignorance. That the future peoples of the earth will be paying compound interest for the damage means that if you don't pay now you will be paying more later and/or not be able to sustain as many people as are currently living on this planet. Make your choices wisely. Even someone paying 1% more is making a huge difference. If you've not studied compound interest you should.

I've been a long term investor in both AMD and INTC and I also trade them short term if the price is right.

I think selling of the memory unit was a strategic mistake and wonder if they'll rethink that or get some R&D going for new technology for the longer term (looking forwards)?

Otherwise I don't plan on selling off my long term holdings of either but I am currently out of both in shares that I was trading for the short term (too many risks in this market). If the price drops on either of them I'll be back in again.

Part of the problem is that when it gets hotter in certain places it also gets drier and there is less plant growth. Plants give shade and give off little bits which help form clouds and rain. Reduce plants things get warmer and drier. Deserts expand as things get hotter. If you want things to get cooler it helps to plant things which give shade and also to stop cutting down what forests we already have.
