Ellis' review is spot on, although I didn't think the McCann movie was as awful as he did. In terms of too English, I take it to mean that the show's too quaint in the special effects department and lacking in the ultraviolence and sex department. The new Who - much like the old Who - also doesn't go out of its way to explain some of the Anglicisms. It's meant for a British audience, and it's pretty unapologetic about it. I have to say that I really really liked the pilot. As Ellis said, Dr. Who hasn't been decent dating to the Peter Davidson days. This is a rousing comeback.
