It's not Dooms fault. That's what people like to do. Face it. Nothing is more fun than blowing away a live person on the other end of the network, or over the internet. The games out today are the best ever. I like the nascar racing games. But nothing compares to getting in there with the big guns. And Doom, in it's day.. Well, lets just say that when you got a hold of the BFG 9000 you were one bad dude. And all those other games are out there for people who like them. Just my opinion.
