moon_monkey writes "According to New Scientist, Darpa is soliciting proposals for so-called Chemical Robots (ChemBots) that would be soft, flexible and could manoeuvre through openings smaller than their static structural dimensions. They suggest that it could be made from shape-memory materials, electro- or magneto-rheological materials or even folding components."

Juha-Matti Laurio writes: "Heise Security has a report about new Proof of Concept virus for Mac entitled as OSX.Macarena by AV vendor Symantec. Symantec suffered from a slight lapse when it recommended in the first version of the virus description that users clean the system by deactivating the system restoration (Windows ME/XP), which was covered with screenshot here. It is known that the virus infects other data in the folder in which it is started, regardless of extension, says Heise."

I was told by a local Cisco engineer that when Best Buy built their new HQ in a southern suburb of Minneapolis a few years ago they went wireless in a bunch of the areas to save on future recabling. They put them in high density and low power... so talk to your Cisco rep and ask them about that. If nothing else they can chat with the Minneapolis office about it...
