I would read that!
But not by AI. The whole point of literature is connection with the author.
That’s an obvious oversimplification, but when I read fiction I do it to enjoy not just the story, but the actual prose and language of the writer.

Bitter is good! (Sometimes.) I like beer and black coffee. Itâ(TM)s probably an acquired taste because of the effects of both beverages, but thatâ(TM)s ok. Whereas coffee with milk and/or cream and/or sugar or whatever is gross as hell. I donâ(TM)t think Iâ(TM)ve ever had decaf coffee, so I canâ(TM)t compare. But I do enjoy some (but very few) nonalcoholic beers too. Most reviews are pretty subjective, so if you donâ(TM)t already mostly agree with the reviewers, they mean very little.

Submission + - Where are the Cheap Thin Clients? 1

Darren Ginter writes: I am compelled by many aspects of desktop virtualization with one exception: the cost of the thin clients, which typically exceed that of a traditional box. I understand all of the benefits of desktop virtualization (and the downsides, thanks) but I'm very hung up on spending more for less. While there are some sub-$200 products out there, they all seem to cut corners (give me non-vaporware that will drive a 22" LCD at full resolution). I can PXE boot a home brew Atom-based thin client for $130 but I'd prefer to be able to buy something assembled. Am I missing something here?

A Brief History of Features Apple Has Killed 461

Technologizer writes "Some folks are outraged over the lack of FireWire in the new MacBook released this week. But Apple wouldn't be Apple if it didn't move faster than any other computer company to kill technologies that may be past their prime. And history usually validates its decisions. We've posted a decade's worth of examples that prove the point."

How long were you in for, and do you have any interesting stories to tell from it?
