It might help create more concern for international safety standards that are badly needed in this field. That seems like it would be worthwhile, since this is not the first such outbreak possibly linked to a lab leak.

Ultimately, I believe greater international pressure needs to be put on such research labs. There have been confirmed cases of virus lab leaks in the past that have caused much smaller outbreaks (one example, https://www.cdc.gov/sars/media...). It's just a matter of time that another outbreak will occur if we don't have strong international support for stringent safety standards.
