Another suggesting is MiniDLNA; it isn't as nice in some ways as Plex; but it is 100% free and very simple to setup. It supports pretty much any dlna renders. In fact my enhanced version ( https://github.com/NathanaelA/... ) actually supports passwordable folders on any standard dlna renderer. :-)

I tweeted last night an idea on how we could possibly get this repealed. I decided to put my money where my mouth is open source; open community; http://internetprotests.com/wh... If we the internet join together; I believe we could get it repealed. Guess that depends on how much the people are willing to do to work against it... Just complain or actually do something about it.

Actually the issue is that they used Cmd 42 (SD Lock/Unlock) card; this basically disables the card unless you have the password -- you cannot reformat the card w/o the password. Basically only a few commands work while the card is locked; and until you unlock it; your stuck. You can unlock it on ANY device so it isn't locked to the device so much as the password...

Now a good question is if the WM7 uses the same password for all roms; or if it uses a hash based on the model/serial number or if it generates a password that it stores somewhere...
