What happen to eLoran, the Loran C, replacement.
Chayka (Russian for "seagull") is a Russian terrestrial radio navigation system, similar to Loran-C.
It is still in use. Some of the Chayka transmitters have output power of 1200kW. That is more powerful than a GPS or other GNSS satellite and is not susceptible to the Kessler syndrome.
For navigation purposes Russia might be in better shape than NATO.
Prof. Dr. Durk van Willigen of Reelektronika posted about a new navigation receiver that integrates eLoran, Chayka, and GNSS signals.
The receiver is only 6cm long and is based on the Loradd++ Core that is available from Reelektronika
