Comment Re:Hard to ignore the writing on the wall. (Score 1) 168

You seem to be under the impression that people elected Trump because they liked him/thought he would be a good president.

Who the fuck would want to stay associated with that?

Those that viewed the other option as worse. For most people that I know, it wasnt about who was the best candidate it was about the least worst.

Leading up to the election I had intended to vote for Clinton because I thought Trump as a moron and would be a terrible president. I did not like Clinton, but I thought she would be a better president. But after consideration I decided to vote for trump because he was a wild card and an outsider. He was not a politician. And I thought it would be interesting to see what setting off a bomb like Trump would to do Washington DC. As with most politicians, some of his policies I agreed with, some I disagreed with. But more than anything, I was hoping that he would shake things up. And no matter what anyone says, I think we can all agree, he absolutely did that. Unfortunately all that he succeeded in doing was further dividing the country. And maybe even the world.

Comment I also work for a call center (Score 2) 630

The call center I work for, they have a generic time code for when you are not on the phone taking calls. 'Personal' encompasses everything you might leave your desk or stop taking calls for a few minutes (bathroom break, make a personal call, etc). Its not meant to take more than a few minutes. Its different from a break or training or meeting with supervisors. They are all coded different. None of the supervisors really say anything about it as long as it isnt abused. Two or three 5 minute personals a week doesnt set off any alarms, a 15 minute personal every day, that will show up on some manager's radar. When I first started working here (in 2006) the whole concept of monitoring every single minute of your work day did seem a bit totalitarian to me, but as with most everything else in life, you get used to it.
