I've seen these netbooks (I'm one of the students recieving them) and you CANNOT do ANYthing but word processing well on them. it's a 10" screen, so that leaves any form of graphics works out of the question, and internet browsing with IE leaves between 10 to 15cm of room for the page because of IE's massive address, book mark and tab bars. They would be relatively simple to hack, just install ubuntu on them, flash the bios using software and tada, hacked netbook. Also, the tracking chip, could you not just block the signal with a faraday cage and watch the reactions? :D

Some examples discussed in the letter include: a project already being developed that speeds up the patent approval process, a UK site that aims to improve government-citizen interactions, and perhaps most importantly, a call for government information to be 'presented in a standardized and widely used data format, like XML, so that anyone — in or out of government — could use and reconfigure it however they pleased.' Election officials in northern Chicago want to know why voter registration material was sent to Princess, a dead goldfish. "I am just stunned at the level of people compromising the integrity of the voting process," said Lake County Clerk Willard Helander, a Republican, who said she has spotted problems with nearly 1,000 voter registrations this year. Beth Nudelman, who owned Princess, said the fish may have got on a mailing list because the family once filled in her name when they got a second phone line for a computer. When will we recognize a goldfish's right to vote?

He plays an amazing 36 World of Warcraft accounts on 11 different computers at the same time. He is his own raid group. "It costs me exactly $5711 in subscription costs per year with 36 accounts on the 6 month pay schedule," he writes. "Not bad considering I'm looking at it like it's a hobby and there are more expensive hobbies out there than World of Warcraft."
