I support a few Exchange servers. The vulnerability allowed attackers to drop a web shell on the server. The patches fix that vulnerability, but admins still need to remove the web shell and anything else left behind. Microsoft have actually published some good tools to help assess and resolve any problems including an nmap script to scan servers https://github.com/microsoft/C.... It will look for shells, IoCs in the logs and dumps of the lsass.exe process on the server (the scariest part of breach). Attackers could have accessed hashed NTLM credentials for any users logging into their mailboxes.

So they're trying something new called the Featured Artists' Coalition. FAC's site states in their charter: 'We believe that all music artistes should control their destiny because ultimately it is their art and endeavors that create the pleasure and emotion enjoyed by so many.' As digital releases are increasing, the artists aren't seeing any more money. With the advent of online distribution, are the traditional music industry functions of promotion, samples, radio, and marketing now nothing but costly overhead for the artists? From Iron Maiden to Kate Nash to Radiohead, some big names are backing this new organization."

T-Mobile Releases New Card, Outlaws VoIP and IM 266

An anonymous reader writes "T-Mobile has launched a new 3G data card in the UK, and banned users from using it for VoIP or instant messaging applications." From the article: "Lock cast doubt on the sustainable viability of a mobile operator banning VoIP from its network. 'I think that eventually, if there's customer demand for this, it will happen," Lock said. "Other organizations will come along allowing VoIP. Who do you think is going to win?'"
