Journal Ethelred Unraed's Journal: Harrykis Potteros? 9

Just got a helpful little e-mail from Amazon.com:

As someone who has purchased books by J. K. Rowling, you might like to know that Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Ancient Greek Edition) will be released soon. You can pre-order your copy at a savings of 30% by following the link below.

Ancient Greek...?

Further investigation (which involved reading the rest of the e-mail) reveals that there is also an Irish Gaelic and Latin edition, which are sure-fire hits on the bestseller lists, let me tell you.

(The German translation sucked IMO.)

This was all over fark and such when it was announced that it would be done. I would buy a copy if it were reasonable enough just for how beautiful it would be. I'll have to check it out. Of course I wonder if they'll use modern conventions for capitalization, punctuation and so on. Or did they pick out
    • zero details. it isn't out yet -- but come on. nothing beyond "ancient greek" which is ambiguous and in the detail description it just says, "greek translation". But it's under 20 bucks. So I'll be buying one.

I will hold it high as proof of what a complete dork I am.

But if I get it and find that some idiot just took the english version and replaced all the letters with the closest greek letter-- I will kill. And no jury in the world will convict me. (Somebody did that with a birthday card to me on
