Any prudent user would have his data backed up somewhere, no? Especially for the class he was taking.

I guess it's one of Murphy's Laws of Computing that you will be burned regularly if you don't back up. Then, you back up religeously for a while...

I'm glad to see Harvard returning the data. I don't blame them for washing their hands of this whole thing.
