There is often a lot of confusion regarding the legality of copying an official music CD purchased from a store or online. The Audio Home Recording Act of 1992 states that a person can create a copied CD legally for his own personal use but not for commercial distribution. As long as you own a real legitimate copy of the original CD, you can legally copy it for your own personal benefit.
