Yup, my company is offering a low cost (£850) video encoder to corporates so that they can take a tv feed of the world cup and stream it in MPEG-2 format (at around 4-5Mbps) multicast to any desktop that wants to receive it, or decode to a plasma (or other) screen via a stb or from a video card on a pc.
If you have a 1-2Mb broadband link, then as soon as 2 or 3 people start using the BBC feed then the companies internet download will start to die. So the option of streaming it on the network internally gets around this. It works a treat!
