Yahoo?! Stop!
Everyone else made good points to counter your argument, but let’s single out Yahoo for a moment. It didn’t fail because they used WFH. It failed because Marissa Meyer was a horrible executive who didn’t know how to manage resources and lead people. What leader automatically assumes everyone is shirking off at home? One who is about to lose a whole lot of support from their staff, as she clearly did and was summarily kicked out.
Have you seen her running anything else lately?
FWIW I do think we will go back in the office. Personal interaction is important. But it will be two or three days a week for the average company. Not four like Hastings seems to think.
