Comment I disagree with all these green energy pundits (Score -1) 219

All these Pulitzer thinkers and progressives think that everyone will be forced one day into driving a 4000lb+ EV and 50% or more of Americans (or the world for that matter) will never be able to afford one at current prices. Sorry to say that for the next 25+ years, the world will still be dependent on fossil energy and beyond because you can't just switch off 100+ years of infrastructure and heavy/long haul shipping to batteries.

America has enough oil in the ground to supply the US and some other countries which would help bankrupt Russia on energy again. This WILL be a slow painful transition to get America and other developed nations to EV and the current policies are mostly responsible for fuel prices. All this nonsense about having 9000 permits is BS. A permit is different than a lease and energy companies have been spooked by this admin with threats and policy changes causing them to pull back on new American energy exploration.

The current admin is being driven by Washinton elites again who are preaching to the world and don't set examples. Case in point. How many house and senate people are driving EV's? What I thought.. Not even 1% of them. https://www.greencarreports.co...

If you want people to follow, lead. Right now its a bunch of elites making laws that damage our national security with energy policies that are again taxing the poor with high fuel prices driving up the cost of everything. Everything depends on energy costs and if the current admin is attacking that, then you get the record inflation we have now and the poor get poorer even with Bernies $15 hourly wage which was supposed to be a liveable wage which is now putting these same people lower economically than they have been in years with lower hourly wages.

There's a way to do both while continuing to cut carbon globally but these asshat politicians need to lead by example, especially John Kerry. Buy EVs, ditch the private planes to start leading. No way, ain't gonna happen because the peasants need to be forced down this path and the elites can continue their carbon binges with private yachts, aircraft and big ol gas sucking vehicles with private armed forces to protect them.

Bingo, you're in that zone now that when you eat high-fat or/and high carb meals, you feel like shit. Why I save my cheat meal for Saturdays, my day off from the gym. Just as you found, all it takes is clean eating, not a whole lot more. If you want to elevate things, you put in some weekly cardio, either in the mornings - fasted so that you get into fat storage for energy vs using the carbs you just ate. If you prefer afternoons, then get some gym exercise in and 30 mins of light cardo. That's all it takes. No P20x workouts are shit like that. Yoga on top of clean eating is another great one. Stay healthy and clean!

Ok, now that I got the flamebait headline out there, diet (lower carbs) is the key. I started with HBP and HC from lifestyle choices and shitty genetics. Yes, genetics are a bitch. Due to genetics, I'm now an insulin-dependent T2 diabetic but only carrying about 12-14 total body fat (I body build now) down from 30+%. I started powerlifting 7 years ago, ate a TON of shit food to gain weight after losing it all then health went to total shit.. For the past year and a half, I've eaten clean and have a weekly cheat (total shit meal) and now struggle to put on bodyweight because clean food metabolizes differently. And he's not promoting healthy eating to pad his bottom line, he's speaking the truth. Unless you've gone down the path of working with a nutritionist and eating clean food (chicken, fish, 94/6 beef, low carb vegetables) you're going to stay fat most likely (some are genetically lucky). As others have said, the sugar cartel won and almost everything has sugar added. I challenge anyone to eat clean for 4 months and see what happens to your body and the changes that happen. I went from being a total fatass to bodybuilding and winning my first comp over a year ago (COVID shut them down in 2020). Stop fooling yourself with thinking it's OK to eat the TON of carbs you're intaking and take responsibility. I did. I was a BIG denier until it clicked. It isn't easy at first but after 30 days, you lose those cravings. And I do expect some flamethrowers to come out and try to shit on this post with their denials about eating and lifestyle. Food science is simple. Try it, eat clean for 30 days, and walk (cardio, I know) daily, and see what happens. This isn't rocket science. BTW, another commenter said go watch videos from the 70s and 80s. Yeah, they were a LOT leaner back then because we didn't have all the shit food lining the grocery store isles. We didn't have a fast-food joint on every corner and didn't eat pizza 4 days a week. Wake up...

Here's what I've learned, and has been mentioned a few times before in this post already with different perspectives.

I had the exact same experience as yours with my first set of bifocals. What solved my issues with it is getting what's called a computer grind on the lens. This type of grind widens the peripheral view while sacrificing a bit for reading paper based documents. Since I don't do anywhere as much book reading as I do computer, this was the perfect tradeoff.

The computer grind in the industry is well understood and not the exact technical term they use, but it helps them understand the type of lens grind your looking for.

Hope this helps a bit...

Google is paying IDC a LOT of money to juggle the numbers to show one tiny slice of the market where Google succeeded. Google is not beating Apple with tablets anymore than Apple is beating Google with online services. If they were, you would see Google chrome books and tablets everywhere and the rare spotting of an iPad. Also, every fanboy (Google or Apple) deserves to post whatever they want. Simply put, the narrator of this post didn't do his research, Google is not beating Apple on the notebook or tablet front. Google does own anything search, online apps, maps, etc.. And thats saying a lot.

Until recently, I used to think that I needed the unlimited plan because I never wanted to hit the limit on data. After reviewing our bill, 2 of the 3 phones we had still had unlimited plans along with purchased minutes costing us about $320 a month for all 3 phones. After using the online tool to see how much data we use monthly, combined we all used less than 10gb so, I switched us over to the shared family plan for $145 instead of $320, and then got us all on the AT&T Next plan for annual phone upgrades and I'm still saving $70 a month! Milage varies depending on if you jailbreak/tether your current phone a lot. VZ has the same kind of plans which could save you some money if you have multiple phones. If not, then it might not save you much money and not be worth loosing that unlimited plan

I host with Softlayer.net (dedicated boxes) and I had the same mysterious issues, server going offline and coming back on. I have a different approach. I trust the techs of the company I'm hosting with so I don't mind giving up root access to chase this problem down. What I do after that is change the root pass again and I'm done. What I'm finding is when the OS and logs come back clean, the problem is mostly likely tied to a DC router issue (a bug or misconfiguration). That's exactly what the excellent techs at SL found. They even filed an RFO (reason for outage) report several days later explaining the problem in detail. So, just like everyone here says, get with a good hosting company and put some trust in the support staff. I used to think that all these companies were about the same level of service if your on a dedicated but, I soon found out you really do get what you pay for.
