I am fairly certain that the AI bubble bursting will result in a worse economic situation than the great depression, except that it will be worldwide. The stock market prices for everything will collapse, and it is likely to result in hyper-inflation because none of these multi trillion dollar companies are going to be cool with losing significant portions of their market cap, or their valuation as a result. Scary.

In addition to what everyone else posted above regarding AI, algorithms, etc, there's a lot of people who have realized it's not a forum for actual discourse. Everything is extremist black and white to one side. Everyone posting is rage baiting at every step. Twitter has become a completely unregulated MAGA cesspool. Pressure from political entities is coloring content filtering/moderation on other platforms as well. People need to realize the only way to make things better is to work together. Social media has generally just become an amplification of level of extremity circle jerk. Anything reasonable is "fake news" most things treated as factual are actual garbage truly fake information. There is almost no tolerance, no discussion, just ultra right leaning absolutist thinking/posting, almost entirely driven off hate and "alternate facts". I am sure similar things exist with left leaning things, but I rarely ever see anything like that on social media. No one is right about everything, you don't have to agree with everyone else, but you need to listen and actually think. Of the group of people I went to high school with almost half of them have unfriended me on Facebook as a result of occasionally posting something that's about as central as you can get and simply suggesting we treat each other as humans, with respect and dignity, etc. THIS is driving people to stop engaging with social media.

She killed off Star Wars by making it "legends" material. Everything that was written there was better than any of the hot garbage they turned into movies. She should've been fired immediately. Whomever takes over needs to un-"legends" the older amazing content and split the hot garbage off into something else.

The fact that it wasn't way more than 4 million is disturbing to me. The fact that a huge company like that thinks it's cool to effectively steal (hope they lose all the lawsuits) from others is really, really scummy. I closed my PayPal account as a result.

As a recent convert due to no one in my entire extended family not seeing iPhone as a "status symbol", and refusing to use anything but Facetime, I swapped from Android. If Apple interfaced well with stuff outside their walled garden ecosystem it would be better for everyone. My point here is: The Google Assistant was at least 10 years ahead of Siri and while they've closed the gap a bit, I think Siri is still about 4-5 years behind Google. They have a long way to go.

In all seriousness, OpenWRT, DDWRT provide much higher levels of performance and functionality on most of the devices than the stock firmware. If you have one of these devices or an "American" one like Linksys you should really check it out.

Agreed, I was going to post the same. We have no idea. They could, and probably are lying, or there is something not right with the model we aren't seeing. They have intentionally gimped hardware to keep them behind, and if there was an easier, cheaper, just as good way, the US companies would be doing it.

This was being developed as a weaponized virus at the research facility, it leaked out because someone made a mistake. China has probably murdered anyone with information to confirm or deny this they don't trust to make sure that word never gets out. This is essentially a dead end at this point. China will continue to do stupid shit like this until someone holds them accountable because at this point the Chinese government leadership knows they can do whatever they want and get away with it.
