Comment Way to make the problem worse (Score 5, Interesting) 481

Wow, this is corporate stupidity at its finest. How exactly will this make more people subscribe? The only reason for this is that the CEO is freaked out about a stock drop and is overreacting. If anyone deserves to be fired it is the Netflix CEO. Everyone knows that the most powerful tool in business is brand recognition, and they are just throwing it away. From what I understand most of the people that dropped the DVD service did it because they weren't using it and it was just a good reason to do so. If anything this move will force more people to drop the DVD service as they will lose they que and no one will like having to pay 2 separate bills from same company. Way to go Netflix you just make a small problem much bigger by overreacting. I have a feeling that their stock is going to tank today.

Comment Jurry Nullification (Score 2) 662

This is the perfect opportunity to bring back jury nullification into the main stream, but it will be hard with all the brainwashed sheep in the US currently. If this goes to trial, the jury should just acquit because any law that states filming in public without consent is illegal is the stupidest law ever. Also if people actually stood up to cops my throwing out these cases, then maybe the attorney generals would grow a pair and start getting the bad weeds out of the police force

If I remember my Immunology course teacher correctly, they did something to this extent with women at a party smelling shirts or something. I am pretty sure it only worked for women. The basis is that to better the species you want different HLA subtypes to maximize the available differences of your MHC receptors. Basically the more different HLA subtypes the better your immune system will be able to adjust to different pathogens. But I also remember that while this might be theoretically true it has no bearing whatsoever on reality, so woop de doo
