Doppleganger's Journal: Why a journal?

Why would anyone create a journal entry? It's not as though most people will ever be seen within the seething mass of humanity (and trollity) of Slashdot. Ahh well.. I suppose I'll drop my own entry into the ocean, and see if any of the ripples survive.
