Comment whatever it is it's not meat (Score 1) 258

Call it anything you want but I don't think the word meat should be anywhere in the name and if it is then it's a lawsuit. Meat is by definition the flesh of an animal look up animal if you want but I don't think we have to. It's obvious that that want to scream MEAT but it's not.

Comment groups of universities maintaining packages? (Score 1) 191

I've been batting around the idea of say 2 or 5 universities with a group of graduate students under say a CS prof or two at each university maintaining a particular package by discussion and consensus. Haven't bounced it around that much yet but it seems to be worth some discussion. Good experience for the students, probably way better documented as undergrads could be enlisted for both programming and end user documentation. Maybe in conjunction with interested people or companies?

10 million trees just to print receipts. They completely logged the side of a lake we are on for 42 miles. Even if someone of the paper is made from recycled paper, I refused to use paper towels to dry my hands. Your hands dry anyway. Shake the water off your hands and then give your arms a moisturizer as you walk out of the washroom.

Comment Ontario power generation (Score 1) 464

Might be of interest, came across this in reddit/r/ontario yesterday. Live data on Canada's province of Ontario power generation by industry. Note about 74% nuclear and ~1% wind and solar which should pick up through the day: http://live.gridwatch.ca/home-... This one isn't as pretty but gives more detail by plannt: https://cns-snc.ca/media/ontar... After all these years of wind and solar installations, the small amount being produced by those technologies would make me think we need more nuclear.
