How do people still confuse 'lose' and 'loose'?
It's actually become more prevalent over time. The more that people see "loose" instead of "lose" the more likely they'll think the former is correct. Check back in ten years or so and it will probably be an acceptable variant. In twenty years "lose" will be considered archaic.
So extremely dangerous he was on a work detail with access to a tractor...
It wasn't as big and powerful as a John Deere tractor. It was just a Jane Doe.
To my horror, I discovered one day in 2019 that "anonymous" posting has been disabled on Slashdot. Registering an account involves a massive form of information, e-mail verification with an annoying forced "password reset", and of course a Google reCANCER blob. In other words, it's no longer possible to comment on articles.
Your commenting on this article casts doubt upon each and every bullet point of your tl;dr essay.
Most of the trolls and useless stuff comes from "Anonymous Coward" posters. Why not eliminate anonymous posting?
We've thought about it. We think the ability to post anonymously is important, though. Sometimes people have important information they want to post, but wouldn't do so if they could be linked to it. Anonymous posting will continue for the foreseeable future.
Surprise due today. Also the rent.
