My opinion is that AI will kill Linux eventually. Not now, not when Linus uses it, because Linus knows how to code and is careful. But eventually the crappy vibe-coded junk will seep into the kernel. And then you'll get Microsoft-style code quality issues.

More seriously, Yandex has been throttling queries rather aggressively lately, and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with their compute going up in smoke due to Ukrainian drones.

Surely this a counter reaction to the Tumbler Ridge shooter in February where 6 kids and two adults were killed by an 18 year old who researched her plans on ChatGPT. OpenAI reportedly noticed her research but decided it didn’t reach their threshold to pass on to the police.
OpenAI and Sam Altman are being sued by the government for not reporting it.

His podcast Better Offline is squarely targeted at people who are very much online. Indeed his entire gig is the epitome of online living.
If Ed Zitron really felt better offline, he wouldn't be making a living off of a podcast and constant AI bashing.
Not that I necessarily disagree with him though... It's just that the messenger doesn't really befit the message.
