Degrees's Journal: Co-worker whoops

Working in the courthouse, we get the occasional "vacate now" orders. Sometimes it's a bomb scare, sometimes it's the fire alarm, once it was a bomb scare because the Sheriff training officer retired, and months later, someone found the training bomb on a shelf....

Today, a web programmer came into our work area - "our" meaning the four server admins. He was asking me about getting access to a mailbox, and then the alarm went off. It was a little faint, coming from the other side of an outside door, way down the main hallway. I asked him if that was the alarm; he said yes. I grabbed my lunch pail, and he and I exited the building quickly.

Might have been nice to mention the alarm to the only other server admin in the area. He had his iPod on, and didn't hear the alarm.

Whoops.

He came out later, because his wife notified him. I was already halfway through my sandwich. For some reason, he was perturbed I left him behind to burn....
