Timothy writes: "After CBS recently dropped the hit TV show, Jericho, an entire online community has sprung up in protest. What are they doing to get CBS to listen to them? Well, they are sending nuts (over 1,500 pounds at last count) to show executives. I'm sure some of you will get the cleverness to this tactic. Besides being a wonderful way to get someone's attention there is a bigger story here. There is blossoming consensus that CBS relies too heavily on the outdated Nielson rating system to determine who stays and who goes. Given that the system does not take into account the tech savvy (i.e. the younger, online viewer and ever increasing DVR owner) should shows such as Jericho be dismissed outright because show executives still can't figure out how to program their VCR, let alone DVD player or DVR?"
