I agree this guy was being a little over dramatic, but going to a windowless room and sitting in (human to human) silence for 3+ hours is hardly living life in a more meaningful way than when being a blob on the couch. At least at home you can have conversations about the movie, have your friend google to find out where that one actor was from, pause/rewind that funny scene, etc... i.e movie theaters (often) have less social interaction the being at home.Â
