It's shocking to see so many people submitting to and/or championing this effort at censorship. Do we really want to give the government the power to determine the content of our libraries, and by extension the type of information available to the general public? It seems like a dangerous step to me. Also: why have we become so willing to have the government take over enforcement of matters that should be personal. Is the first ammendment situational now? Do we realize what we're giving up? We're trading a basic right to free and unfettered access to information for the comfort of knowing our kids aren't seeing boobies at the library: does this make sense?
