DJAdapt writes: Kronos Private Cloud (KPC) customers discovered that their Time & Labor Management and Payroll solutions were completely down on Monday, 12/13/21. According to a post on the Kronos Community Page, a cyber security incident due to a ransomware attack is affecting UKG Workforce Central, UKGTeleStaff, Healthcare Extensions, and Banking Scheduling. Although they are currently working with cyber security experts on the issue, they say that it may take several weeks to restore full system availability. This will cause many folks using their TLM and payroll services to seek manual alternatives in the meantime.

DJAdapt writes: The successor to the Pebble & Pebble Steel smartwatch, Pebble Time is back on the crowdfunding site Kickstarter, hitting its $500,000 goal in 17 minutes and hitting the $2M mark in less than an hour. The new wearable, available in three colors initially, is touting a new color e-paper display and microphone for responding to notifications. Apart from that are features that Pebble users are already familiar with such as 7 days of battery life, water resistance and an extensive library of watch faces and apps.

Submission + - LG high-def TVs to stream Netflix videos (msn.com)

DJAdapt writes: In a partnership to be announced Monday, LG Electronics will start selling high-definition TV sets that stream Netflix videos directly from the Internet, without an additional device. The deal marks the first time Netflix's streaming service will be embedded in a television. "Piping movies directly to TV sets is the natural evolution of the video streaming service," said Reed Hastings, the chief executive of Netflix.

"The TV symbolizes the ultimate destination," he said.

Hopefully Netflix instant streaming selection won't suck for much longer.

Submission + - Dell plans to sell its PCs at Wal-Mart

DJAdapt writes: "In a departure from Dell's approach of selling machines only directly to customers, a Dell spokesman said Thursday that the computer maker will begin selling two of its Dimension desktop computers in about 3,000 Wal-Marts beginning June 10. Dell spokesman Dwayne Cox said the Wal-Mart deal "represents our first step" into global retail. "Customers want more and new ways to buy our products, and we plan on meeting their needs on a global level," Cox said. "Offering Dell Dimensions in Wal-Mart is a great example of this approach.""
