The system itself was a pretty bad idea. It associates Turbine with the scum of the Internet. And it will undoubtedly lead to numerous complaints from customers who get screwed over by these third parties.
But to then add on top of that the breach of Turbine's own Privacy Policy by preemptively sharing account user names and email addresses when a user simply browses to the "Offer Wall" page on Turbine's own site (without clicking on anything) is BATSHIT INSANE.
FYI, DDO is still offering a "VIP" monthly subscription of $15. It gets you access to all the content, some nice bonuses (shared bank space, etc.) and 500 "Turbine Points" a month.
Not to mention, there are no "top player" rankings in DDO. Some players just suck, others don't.
