Relatively small? Try rapidly growing number.

In the past two years since AI started becoming more mainstream I have seen more and more students in my classes not only us AI to write their papers but also post to the weekly discussion threads...it's gotten so bad that I've seen half a class of discussions clearly generating responses in discussions using AI...it's an epidemic.

Still waiting for the first college graduate to admit to 100% of their content was AI generated.

Yes because who can remember the 100% accuracy in journalism that CNN strives to provide?

Joe Rogan Ivermectin Story (2021): CNN pundits, including Dr. Sanjay Gupta, were criticized for claiming Joe Rogan took "horse dewormer" when he took human-prescribed ivermectin for COVID-19.
Boston Marathon Bombing (2013): CNN was criticized for falsely reporting that a "dark-skinned male" was arrested in connection with the attack.
"Fiery But Mostly Peaceful" Protest Coverage (2020): During the Kenosha riots, CNN was criticized for running a headline describing the scene as "Fiery but mostly peaceful protest" while showing buildings burning in the background.
Hunter Biden Laptop Story (2020): CNN, along with other outlets, was criticized for dismissing the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation.
Nick Sandmann Coverage (2019): CNN was accused of misrepresenting the Covington Catholic High School student, leading to a defamation lawsuit, according to public discourse surrounding the event.
Iran Propaganda Claim: The White House has accused CNN of airing Iranian propaganda during Operation Epic Fury, specifically by airing a, "ten-point plan" from Iranian officials that was later deemed to be inaccurate.

Worse....my online classes we have provisions in place to detect AI for papers along with plagiarism, but when it comes to online discussions, nearly 90% of the posts are all AI generated. You can tell because the posts are WAY longer than student posts two years ago, and they almost ALWAYS end with "overall", or "in conclusion" as well as sentences being really short. The issue is there is no provision in place to detect AI discussion posts and no policy either...you have entire classes of students communicating back and forth through AI, there is hardly an original post in the threads every week.

This I have personally witnessed at multiple universities and when I've inquired about enabling AI detection in the discussion threads I am met with silence.
