We could build some sort of intra-brain prosthetic for people with brain damage. It would be easier to just repair the nerves. I imagine that the technology would be in it's early stages, and would be quite bulky too. Nerve regeneration technology is, admittedly only in comparisan, much more advanced. On the other hand, we could develop some kind of organic computing. You would have to build the devices completely from organics, or you would have too many problems with speed, and translation between Organic and Synthetic components.
