I will not even entertain the idea of doing a sloppy/quick dirty project.
This has meant that on occasion I have had to turn down work because the client thought the estimated time frame was longer than they wanted.
But as reputation is everything in this business, I will not compromise. I often tell clients that we follow strict procedures and standards as it is thier best interest, but if they are not interested then they can go find some hack who will gladly do a second rate job and charge a lot less.
You will not believe how many have actually came back to me at some stage because "it wasn't working out" with their web developer. And I have looked at the site that has been produced for them by and it is full of errors and sloppy code, and is not flexible enough to add more functionality.
Again - try to only take on jobs that you can take pride in knowing that the job is of good standard. The client can't complain if the site does everythig (and more) than even they anticipated.
