A Pug doesn't have longer hair, but the shed volume is intense. I have two Roomba vacuums, one upstairs, one downstairs. The pug lives on both floors. Each vacuum has to be emptied after each use.

When I run either the Dyson or Shark uprights, they pick up enough hair that the Roomba missed so that they too have to be emptied after each use.

I also have a long haired chihuahua, who is old and deaf. The Roomba does not run unless we're home and he is off the floor.

My 88 year old mother willingly switched to Linux Mint 2 years ago, after being shown that it wasn't scary and difficult to learn.

She also switched to Thunderbird and Libre Office pretty quickly.

She's encountered one problem. Her house had a brownout and CUPS borked her printer driver. All that was required to fix was to stop the CUPS service, delete the driver and then print something through CUPS.

Santa Monica could do some emergency road work in the area. At least making it so far as to get the road signs and barrels/Jersey barriers up.

Calculate the average cost of credit monitoring when **bought by a consumer**.

Companies should then write checks for that amount to each individual impacted.

The individual can decide when/if to purchase the monitoring service. (I think I'm currently being monitored for 5 breaches.)

Fines are additional. Perhaps we also need to attach criminal negligence as well. (And it should also include the CIO and CEO.)

If that's too steep of a price to pay, keep the data offline.
