My first one was 6 CD's bought from a book store with FTP mirrors on it (and slackware was the install.. Pre Redhat existing), where PPP was experimental and you had to compile your own kernel (on a 486, took about 24 hrs) to get net access. Remember using "SLIP" to speed things up (TCP over serial modem connection to my ISP). Those were the days ;)
