2 years ago I got out of the Marine Corp While in the Marine Corp I have been to 20 diffrent states and 15 diffrent countires but I always seemed to end up back in Californoa(I am from Mass). After I got out I came back to Mass with the wife and kids to get a job that I was offered. But 2 short years have passed and they have anounced they will be shutting down our facility. Luckily I have recieved 2 job offers both with the same company but in different regions. Mass and Cali. The black hole known as San diego becons me once again (did I mention my wife is from San diego?) So Its a no brainer back to cali so I don't have to listen to my wife complain about the cold. But I will always be a Pats fan.

WTF?? I have been chosen to be a moderator every other day for the past 2 weeks. Readin slashdot isn't my job. I am married with 2 kids, I work full time and go to school 3/4 time. and moderate slashdot?!!! Christ they should practically pay me for how much work I've done. I am somewhat conservative and I usually vote Republican. I understand how someone could be a democrat say 10 years ago but now the democrat party freaks me out. This isn't to say republicans are perfect some of their big buisness "tax breaks" piss me off. But the Democrats by far freak me out the most.I don't understand how someone could be all of the following.
Pro-Partial Birth Abortion/Late term(>=6 months or more)but I do believe if the health of the mother is in serious jeapordy its ok.
Anti-Second Ammendment(I don't accept the whole interpetation argument)
Pro-Welfare: I know 4 families living off the state they always have lived off the state and will always live off the state. They have noplans on getting off of it and they feel likes its their Constitutional Right(TM) to get it. Personally I think it should be fixed/overhauled before we even talk about giving more money to it.
Pro ACLU I am not trying to diminish anything the ACLU has accomplished in the past and present. They used to be a great organization. but defending NAMBLA?!! come on. Yes I realize they(NAMBLA) have rights too, but leave them to their own lawyers stay out of it. The ACLU will never see any of my money again its going to EFF now.
anti-religeon I accept that religeon in general hasn't always led to the greatest things but I think overall its contribution to humanity outweighs the negatives. Why can't a teacher wear a cross over her shirt? It will influence the kids ? PUH-LEASE.
There are only a few things I want from the Government:
1) Stay out of my life
2) Pay as little taxes as possible for the things I need (i.e. defense, roads, and Education.(in that order))
3) stay out of my life

Well My mother is on the Board of directors for a small Chrsitian School. Knowing me for the computer nerd that I am she asked me what we be a good computer curriculum for kids K-12. So that my question to you guys. My other question is who how and where can I contact computer vendors for donations ?

Well I think I will write some crap about me. Lets see... I Got out of the Marine Corp in Dec 2001 and moved back to my home state of Mass. I am an electronics technician by trade thanks to the good alod USMc for the training I discovered Linux some time in 99 about a year after I got my own PC. I have some experiance with my partents 486 back in day and I had a commadore 64 that was alot of fun. My current project is to Install Linux on the 4 computers at home. 1 gateway AMD400mhz 80gb hard drive 64meg o' ram. a toshiba laptop with an AMD450 mhz , a at&t globalyst 730 with DP's 133's and a an at&t globalyst 200 laptop with a 200 meg HD. My plan is this the Gateway desktop is my wifes computer and she loves her windows so I really can't touch it. I am going to use the AT&T 730 as a router/firewall so my wife can keep surfing while I can surf on the toshiba. the globalyst 200 I plan on using as a thin client. probably for my garage. I would like to set up samba clients on the linux boxen and enable file sharing on the win box. my ultimate goal i to get a sparc and an alpha and try linux on them. Alot of people are telling me to upgrade but I am going to wait till processor architechture hits 64 bit and AFFORDABLE. My other goals include getting a degree (EE). maybe another in compsci but its hard when you are married with 2 kids.
