The number of former presidents behind bars is currently 0, Lula stole billions and yet is in custody in what is called a "State Room" that reads as his own private suite with TV and limitless visitations, including reporters from the press in a Federal Police Building, not a penitentiary. Unfortunately there are no bars at all, just a wooden door. Most of the other political figures are in house arrest in their luxurious mansions, basically enjoying what they stole.

Considering that the constitution reads that we have a fundamental right to live but fails to ensure our fundamental right to protect our lives with the effective tools to do so, in such a way that a lower class simple law is able to forbid ownership and carry of firearms. Considering that our legal system is such a mess that some laws are respected while others are ignored depending on the ideology of those responsible for ensuring that laws would be respected and carried. This looks like nothing more than publicity and waste of paper, impossible to prove in court when violation happens.

I think you are missing the point on why ISP's are blocking the torrents. It has nothing to do with illegal content, and all about cutting their costs on bandwidth. Why buy big pipes when you can squeeze all your costumers in smaller cheaper ones? They act on the fact that most people don't use their full bandwidth all the time, except for those damn bit torrent users *smile*

If they were to take upon themselfs the enforcement of legal content, setting aside the privacy concerns, they would have to figure out how to block child porn, movies, songs... and some of those contents are actually what make them sell broadband in the first place.

And about the privacy, if they are openning up my packets up in the application level, what guarantees do I have that they will just look the other way when I access my home banking or purchase something with a credit card?

There is no moral or legal grounds for blocking, perhaps except for places like China and US *cough*
