If they start reporting 33% Nader or Kucinich then the electorals could split the votes and actually give a third candidate at least one vote.
Actually, that's not going to happen. Only a couple of states actually split their electoral votes (at most, maybe 4 or 5). The rest are winner-take-all, regardless of the resulting percentages of the popular vote in the state.
