Why do people keep talking about turn rate advantage? The human on-board is not the only limitation. It is also structure. Higher instantaneous turn rate would require a stronger, and therefore heavier airframe, which would cut into payload. Higher sustained turn rate would require lower wing loading, or more engine power. Lower wing loading would adversely affect speed and more power would mean a bigger, heavier engine. It should be a hint to everyone all fielded drones so far are less maneuverable than manned aircraft. The big benefit of drones is loiter time.

Somehow I don't trust that the politicians would do a significantly better job allocating these money than Tesla would. I mean these people apparently don't read what they are voting for. You could probably let a random number generator make decisions and the outcome would probably be better.

Comment Depends on what tech. (Score 1) 158

Depends on the type of tech. Software - yes, there is an expectation that remote work will become the norm. Semiconductor industry - no, there is an expectation that we will need to get back to the office. Those of us who work in labs still go to work.

Being honest, it is probably good for people in hardware - we will have to deal with less traffic, rents will normalize and the Silicon Valley will be about Silicon again an not software.
