possible origin of FOO... (Score 1)

If I recall correctly, old airforce pilots would use the word "foo" to describe any unidentified object they saw.. (ufo's ? hence Foo-Fighters ;)

Perhaps this generic term found it's way into the realms of programming, way back when...
