Why is Microsoft Patching XP? 370

akkarin noted a story about a new Service patch for XP. Dubbed SP2c, the new service patch contains no bug fixes or features. Instead, this exciting patch exists only to add new valid active product registration keys. Oops.

Wednesday Is Pi Day 282

mrbluze points us to an AP writeup on the upcoming Pi Day — 3-14 (which some will observe at 1:59 pm). The article notes: "[T]he world record [for reciting the number Pi] belongs to Chao Lu, a Chinese chemistry student, who rattled off 67,890 digits over 24 hours in 2005. It took 26 video tapes to submit to Guinness," and mentions in passing a Japanese mental health counselor who last fall recited 100,000 digits, but did not choose to submit proof to the record book.

Journal Journal: RGB 2

I made a webcomic called Red Green Blue. There are only four strips, none of which have any comedic value (the funny ones will come later), but I wanted to tell you about it now. Check back often.

Journal Journal: I'm making an OS 2

I'm going to make an OS. While I would like to think the end product will be more user-friendly than Windows, and more 1337 than Linux, it will probably amount to nothing. There are hundreds of open-source OS's that barely get off the ground, why should mine be any different? I'm mainly doing it to learn, and if anyone wants to play with it or develop some software, they'll have the source.

Journal Journal: My first entry...

Maybe I shouldn't do this, because it will go on my permanent record... But anyway, I'm Captain_Thunder. I'm a superhero, and every night I go out and protect the weak and inocent. I'd love to tell you my real name, but it's a secret. I'll use this space to keep you aprised of everything in my life... so, yeah. Bye. Check back often.
