Submission + - Is It Worth Buying a Discounted HP TouchPad? (

Zothecula writes: Last Thursday, HP announced that it would "discontinue operations for webOS devices, specifically the TouchPad and webOS phones." The surprise announcement came less than two months after the release of the TouchPad and the company subsequently slashed its price, prompting a stampede of customers looking to snap up a tablet bargain. But just how much of a bargain is it considering there won't be any future updates to webOS from HP and developers aren't likely to produce many new apps for a discontinued device? Having spent some time with a TouchPad recently, I'd have to say, like most things, it depends.

Submission + - PS3 violates Norwegian Marketing Control Act (

voxra writes: The Norwegian Consumer Council has gone through the terms of service for Sony PlayStation 3 and Playstation Network and decided to file a complaint to the Consumer Ombudsman regarding a breach of the Norwegian Marketing Control Act.

- Sony claims a universal right to change or remove functionality from the gaming console. In our opinion this is in clear violation of the Marketing Control Act, and not the least it’s a breach of trust between the consumer and Sony, says Head of Section Thomas Nortvedt in the Norwegian Consumer Council.

Submission + - Major Facebook Security Hole Discovered 2

adeelarshad82 writes: A major security hole in Facebook has been discovered. Ironically, the source of this vulnerability is Facebook's own much-vaunted security "improvements." A video shows how you can view pending friend requests and chat history for any of your friends. Facebook Chat is down at the moment (coincidence? probably not). Unfortunately this isn't the only security hole in Facebook, another one was recently discovered which lets you retrieve the full name and Facebook URL for any account holder, given nothing but the Facebook ID number.
