The Trophées du Libre (international free software awards) is an international contest that has been rewarding innovative free software projects since 2003. Candidates are evaluated by a jury of free software experts chaired by Georg C. F. Greve, president of Free Software Foundation Europe.

The 8th Libre Software Meeting (Rencontres Mondiales du Logiciel Libre) will take place in Amiens (France) from the 10th to the 14th of July 2007. The RMLL offer an impressive number of free conferences (about 300) on a wide range of topics (from system administration to public sector software), featuring world famous speakers like Alan Cox.
