From the old adage 'release early, release often', to the importance of multi-platform support in this era of Linux/i386 hegemony, to positively embracing all criticism. He also controversially advises developers to concentrate on making evolutionary, rather than revolutionary, advancements — stating that 'there is no shortage of low quality software in the world' and authors should 'concentrate first on doing a small set of things very well, gradually adding new features as existing ones stabilise'.
