Every now and again I get Moderator Points, and was looking at the Slashdot header bar, we've got Mandrake, Wireless, Einstein, Video, Space icons up there, then it hit me, hey that kinda looks like a slot machine... hey! How about Slashjack?

Deposit a moderator point, click the URL... Einstein, Space Guy from Star Trek, Einstein, OSX, OSX,

2:1 jackpot! now I'd have 6, unless of course the Space Guy was wild... well you get the idea. Diversions of the diverted.

  • I don't think I'd call it "Slashjack", you know, since I assume you'd be going for a Slashdot-Blackjack combination, which isn't what you want.

    • Right you are... how's "slotsdot", or "one-armed-moderator", though I was thinking of something more pokerlike, maybe "5 / draw"

      So someone would have to act as the house. Moderators who subscribe, go through the proxy service which dereferences the accounting to the actual modpoint owner, but it is anonymous who's points end up getting used; the system would check the TTL of the points in the bank and spend those first.
