Like walk into my old house and control a robot to fix some of my cast iron plumbing so it doesn't leak? Including trips to Home Depot and such?
That's stuff humans can do, computers have difficulty.
This is an extension of The Wozniak Coffee Test.
You need humans to envision that next new thing. AI would have no idea we want a better way to compost household organics, or a lighter more aerodynamic bicycle... so humans still run it. And also, how many to make? 1 or 100,000? And where to get the materials? I mean there are just way too many things to get from iron ore to delivered product that need humans.
But let me know when it is ready, I have a lot of old plumbing in my 75 yo place to be fixed, and retro computers I want to get working again. Probably a long wait.
Then I'd consider it - otherwise heck no!
Clickbait title? Like the post said, the decline started in 2017, alternatives like reddit were moving in, AI just added to the decline.
AI generated Pull Requests with supposed fixes to the bugs. Actually dependencies are the culprits a lot of the time.
So basically students should get issued shares in the college/university when they hand over their tuition since they are funding the development - with voting priviledges
Cool. I mean hot. Hopefully cool on the inside.

There's tons of cheap, decent laptops on eBay, not too old. Buyer has to know what they are doing, they all need a cleaning, and Linux would "have to do".
More grassroots, workplaces replace their laptops and usually toss very good used ones all the time. (Speaking from experience). Do some calling around and you may find yourself sitting on a stack of 100 of them very quickly.
I like the idea of phone as computer, everyone seems to shell out for phones and they are quite powerful. Peripheral-izing them could be costly tho.
Careful where you point that thing
Turn 'em in to schools, or data centers... or how about storage units? They seem to be in demand
Snowden for President!
Why? I'm sure it's great, but...
Now if it was only printed on paper it might actually have some value; but don't - there's not enough trees on the planet to do so
