In my experience in L.A., most of the folks who zoom through redlights started zooming a ways back from yellow and so are guilty of running the light.
Sure, they don't like getting caught, and like even less the steep fines and points on their license that might result in insurance rate hikes.
But most of them are guilty. Ain't the truth hard to swallow?
And as a native of Mississippi ... oh, buggers. I haven't lived there in 30 years and I won't be going back soon or often. Haley Barbour is a criminal as far as I'm concerned. He abides by the "will of the people" when it suits him, and ONLY then. 'Course I guess he suits the ignoramuses who consistently vote against their own interests in Mississippi just fine.
Why don't they outlaw speed traps for folks with out of state plates? They get stopped and ticketed all the time, " 'cause we don't like yankees." Yup, it's really like that.
Whether you think traffic cameras are an invasion of privacy is an entirely separate matter.
