Yes - in the full version of the last image (Queen Mary 2 boat), I zoomed 200% and looked at the black line on the red background in the upper right corner. The JPEG in this case is much clearer. However, the rest of the image I looked at was pretty much very close. Given that the WebP version is only 1/3 the size of the JPEG version, I do think there is something promising here.

Based on content, one may perform better than the other in different areas of the picture. The thing here is for all these comparisons, the average quality of both are about the same, and the WebP versions are smaller in size.

I have gotten a lot of meaningless posts on a comments page on my personal site. It was bizarre to me to. No links, just completely irrelevant one-line sentences by users with names like "glkjsjfghe." I have been able to successfully filter these out in the code, and I return a "400 Bad Request" response page to the HTTP POST. However, this has had no effect on frequency or similarity of the posts.

My best guess to this is they just post to sites found through a search engine, and then later try to search for the always unique usernames used to post to identify targets. The first post contains no spam, then if successful, they will post further with spam. I didn't let the posts stay alive long enough to find out, though. Maybe this is the forum version of a "bounce test."

And, in fact, a county has already done the same thing to collect fines for sheds, garages, etc: http://www.king5.com/news/local/Eye-in-sky-finds-illegal-Pierce-County-buildings-92779144.html

Also, FTA, "A representative for Google said she did not know of any other community using Google Earth as it has been used in Riverhead." Pierce county must have used Bing?
