Comment Unified 5G Network (Score 1) 194

In my opinion cell phone networks should be unified. What I mean by that is that no matter who your cellphone provider is you should be able to use the towers closest to you. On my remote rural house Verizon has a cell tower but the rest are far away making Verizon the only that really works where I live. That makes no sense to me. Everyone in my area should be able to connect to this tower. There should be agreements between the different cell carriers that would allow using the closest tower to you. They should also turn all spectrum into a data network and use VoIP over it rather than normal calls and texts.

To be fair, guys working on making working robot hands are not connected with the same groups that are working on bipedal motion and those same groups aren't working on visual recognition, etc. If Musk can unite these different projects he stands a good chance of making a robot for house chores.

I can't speak for javascript's good or bad performance and usability in complex projects but I can say that Node.js and simplecart which uses Node.js is very easy and runs fine. Yeah a hacker can change a price going to Paypal with it but with only one product to sell it is easy to see if the correct price is being transmitted. A little html and boom the site can run on a Raspberry Pi and perform well.

As if we have a problem with the 1% ruling everything on earth now. Letting whoever gets there first will only add to that problem. The resources were there long before humankind appeared. If the resources belong to anyone, they rightfully belong to all of us. It should be this way on earth as well. Comment NSA should secure public automated transportation (Score 1) 97

We know that about 30,000 people are killed each year in the U.S. due to ordinary traffic accidents. Computer controlled vehicles will drastically decrease this in the coming years. We can't not afford to implement computer controlled vehicles. Why not have the NSA secure automated vehicle software. They would likely be ahead of the game on security vulnerabilities and are best positioned out of everyone to secure automated vehicles. Yes there is an issue with having the NSA track everyone's movements all the time. That is unfortunately happening to a lesser extent now with police license plate scanners.
